Come volunteer in one of the many service projects Good Shepherd provides to our surrounding communities!
GSLC also gives financial gifts to many different organizations in our surrounding community - this is built into our annual spending plan and is an intentional choice as we celebrate being part of the Somerset County community.

Food Bank Volunteer
December and January
Our next opportunity to serve is this coming June. Be sure to signup on the kiosk. IHN provides shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes through a cost-efficient and effective community response to family homelessness.
Each year, GSLC volunteers for two months at the local Somerset County Food Bank. This is a great opportunity for families and people of all ages to serve our community!
Holiday Food Basket
GSLC loves to feed people! Each year at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, food is collected, assembled and delivered in baskets to approximately 15 families in our community. The baskets provide a full meal for the holiday, as well as a week's worth of groceries.
“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America — one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.
Lutheran Social Ministries helps families in need get their children ready for school. We support this ministry by buying backpacks and filling them with new school supplies.
Each year before Christmas, a tree is placed in the Narthex filled with tags of gifts for children and families who are struggling to celebrate Christmas. Individuals are encouraged to take a tag, purchase the gift and then as a congregation we share these gifts with the families to be able to give their children gifts on Christmas morning!
The Faithful Ecology Affinity Group exists for the purpose of assisting the faith community of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in practicing responsible stewardship of God’s creation and actively participating in its future health and sustainability.
